I have been feeling really confused about my college experience and my future in programming and how a college education plays into all of that. I know
there are lots of people out there who never completed a college CS degree and are doing great for them selves in the real world. When it comes down to
it, alot of the time I dont feel like im getting anything out of college.. it feels like its just a waste of my time and holding me back. Reading
through this helped me out with alot of this. Check it
out and let me know if you have any comments on the subject.

I recently watched the 1987 movie "No Way Out" with Kevin Costner.. Not that bad of a movie.. but there is some stuff that bothers me.. but only because
i live in the DC area and i can see the inaccuracies of the movie. In the movie one of the characters is running down the canal, turns and goes up some
steps and enters a Metro station. The station says it is the "Georgetown" metro station, on the red line. No such station exists anywhere in the Metro
system.. and the red line doesnt have any stops on the canal anyways.. Whats worse, is that once he is in the station, he gets on a train, and you
realize that he didnt get on a train that looks anything like a metro train... He's on a Baltimore Lightrail train!. He gets off at the next
station.. which also happens to be labeled "Georgetown" for some reason.. except this time he comes out into the Georgetown mall.. there isnt a metro
station in the Georgetown mall! I know these are things that really arent that important to the storyline.. but it really ticks me off how wrong that
stuff is!
7/29/02: BigDither: The World is going to shit! Congress is going to pass a bill saying that you cant mod devices that you own to play music that you legally own.. Such as if someone made an mp3 players that only plays watermarked music.. if you have a cd that isnt watermarked.. and you mod the device to play the songs from it.. it would be illegal BigDither: As well as.. this bill contains that copyright owners of intellectual material would be exempted from liability for "disabling, interfering with, blocking, diverting, or otherwise impairing the unauthorized distribution, display, performance, or reproduction of his or her copyrighted work on a publicly accessible peer-to-peer file trading network."
